John Kennedy

John Kennedy is an independent pavement engineering consultant specializing in the use of hydraulic binders and pozzolans to produce environmentally, energy and cost efficient long life pavements.

 

Over the last 20 years, the consultancy has been active in the design, construction and maintenance of road, airfield and industrial pavements in the UK and overseas for a wide range of clients including; the UK Highways Agency, BAA (British Airports Authority), international contractors, D&B and DBFO consortia, trade organizations, material suppliers, consultants and local authorities.

 

John Kennedy is the author of many technical papers, reports and publications and is the UK expert for hydraulically treated materials on the BSI committee B510/4 and the European Standards Technical Committee CEN TC227/WG4 ‘Road materials’.

Frinton-On-Sea Cricket Club

As the club celebrates its 100th year, it is in good health. Its membership numbers 200 including a strong junior membership. Club president Jonathan Geldard, said: “We like to think the cricket club has always been, and remains, an integral part of Frinton’s social scene. It’s been an interesting 100 years and I am delighted to say the club is in such good health. We are always keen to welcome new members so if anybody would like to join us, we would very much look forward to hearing from them. After all, what better time to join than at the start of the club’s second century!”

Road Surface Treatments Association

The Road Surface Treatments Association (RSTA) is the focal point for the road surfacing industry.
It aims to:

    •  Raise awareness of the range and benefits of road surfacing treatments

    •  Promote workforce competence and professionalism

    •  Champion safe working, sustainability and best practice

    •  Encourage product and process innovation.

RSTA members include national and local contracting companies, local authority direct labour organisations, material and equipment suppliers. RSTA members are encouraged to register with National Highway Sector Scheme 13 or BBA/HAPAS Product Certification and Approved Installer Schemes as appropriate. RSTA is recognised by the National Highway Sector Scheme as being the only route through which members’ operatives and supervisors can obtain endorsed CSCS cards as demanded by Sector Scheme 13.

British Motor Cycle Federation

Formed in 1960 against 'tabloid press tales' of 'leather jacketed hooligans racing around our streets', the Federation of National and One Make Clubs (FNOMC) was established.

 

In 1965 the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) was formed to represent all motorcyclists. The BMF's successful lobbying defeated such ill-conceived ideas as leg-protectors and the 100bhp limit restriction.

 

Today we are:

  • A member of government advisory groups.
  • Represented in Europe.
  • A well respected and powerful lobbying Group.
  • Organisers of the BMF Rider Training network
  • The Organiser of Europe's largest outdoor motorcycle show

North Bristol Rugby Football Club

The club was founded on 24th April 1933 by former pupils of the North Bristol Central School, which at that time was sited in Bishop Road / Clevedon Road, Bishopston. Former pupils, John Wright and Fred Frost initiated the resolve to form the rugby club which became known as North Bristol Central Old Boys RFC.

 

North Bristol Rugby Football Club have a flourishing a very successful Junior Section with over 300 young players, from U5s to Colts, all with RFU qualified and DBS checked coaches. Sessions are on Sunday mornings and also held during the week.

 

They also running Girls sessions on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm for U13s, U15s and U18s with a view to running teams for the 17/18 season. North Bristol Rugby Football Club also offer free membership for the girls for 17/18.
